| About: Prof. Dr. A.K.M. Anwarul Islam is a urology surgeon in Dhaka. He regulerly chambers Square Hospital and Popular Diagnostic Center, Dhanmondi. Professor A.K.M. Anwarul Islam graduated from Mymensingh Medical College in 1977 and completed FCPS in Surgery from Bangladesh College of Physicians & Surgeons (BCPS) in 1983. Then he served as Junior Consultant of Surgery in district hospitals until 1988, when he joined the Urology department of IPGMR (present BSMMU) as Assistant Professor. Professor Anwarul Islam has a long carrier of over 33 years in Urology. He was one of the active members, who worked together in the early period of development of modern urology and transplantation in Bangladesh. Under WHO Fellowship program, he received training in specific fields in renowned overseas urology centers including NKI, Philippines and CMC, Vellore. He also served as Urologist in KSA for over 3 & ½ years. In 1996, he completed the FRCS examination of Royal College of Ireland. His credentials enabled him to achieve the position of Associate Professor (2000) and then Professor (2005) of Urology in BSMMU. He is experienced in General Urology, Endo-urology, Stone surgery, Pediatric Urology, Reconstructive Urology, Andrology and Kidney Transplantation. |
