ABOUT DOCTOR: Prof. Mohammad Ali is the pioneer Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic surgeon of Bangladesh. He initiated the first ever successful Liver Transplant in Bangladesh. He is the founder of the National Liver Foundation of Bangladesh. Received Fellowship in Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery and Liver Transplant from Queensland Liver Transplant Services, University of Queensland, Australia in 1997. He founded the National Liver Foundation of Bangladesh (NLFB) in April 1999, a philanthropic organization dedicated to Prevention, Treatment, Education and Research on liver diseases in Bangladesh. www.liver.org.bd

WORK EXPERIENCE:

EDUCATION: Graduated from Sylhet M.A.G Osmani Medical College with distinction and honors under Dhaka University in 1973. Started his surgical carrier at Chittagong Medical College Hospital in 1977. He obtained Fellowship (FCPS), Surgery from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1982. He furthermore received the fellowship in Surgery (FRCS Ed) from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK in 1994.

Received Fellowship in Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery and Liver Transplant from Queensland Liver Transplant Services, University of Queensland, Australia in 1997. Academic Excellence Award was offered to him by the University of Queensland in the same year. He received further training on Liver Transplantation at the University of Tokyo and Dept. of Transplantation & Immunology, University of Kyoto, Japan.

AWARDS: Dr Mohammad Ali received the prestigious Health Award 2010-11 by ‘Healthier Bangladesh’ for his excellent contribution in the field of prevention and treatment of Liver diseases in Bangladesh.
